The short version
LancerBill’s tools run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, see, store or transmit anything you type into a calculator or generator — your invoices, clients, rates, revenue figures and tax calculations never leave your device. This policy explains the limited data we do handle.
What we do not collect
- Tool inputs: anything you enter into any calculator, converter or document generator is processed locally by JavaScript in your browser. It is never sent to our servers.
- Tool outputs: generated invoices, quotes, receipts and calculation results exist only on your device.
- Accounts: there are no user accounts, so there are no usernames, passwords or profiles to store.
- We do not sell personal data. There is nothing to sell: we don’t hold tool-use data at all.
What we do collect
If you contact us
If you email us at hello@lancerbill.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this solely to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your contact details with third parties. Correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
Basic technical logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, timestamps, browser type) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not linked to tool usage — since tool inputs never reach our servers, they cannot appear in logs. Logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted.
Cookies
- Our tools do not use cookies or any tracking technology. Your browser’s local storage may be used by individual tools to remember things like your client book or invoice numbering — this data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
- Advertising (when active): if we display ads in the future, our advertising partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. This policy will be updated before any advertising goes live, with details of the providers and your choices.
Third parties
We do not share personal data with third parties. External links on our pages (to HMRC, the IRS, the ATO and other official sources) take you to those organisations’ websites, which operate under their own privacy policies.
Children’s privacy
Our tools are general-audience business utilities not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or request portability. Because we hold essentially no personal data beyond correspondence you initiate, most requests will simply confirm that we hold nothing about you. To exercise your rights, email hello@lancerbill.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the “last updated” date above and note the change here. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
