What LancerBill is
LancerBill is a free collection of money and admin tools for freelancers, solopreneurs, contractors and small businesses: invoice, quote and receipt generators; freelance rate and pay converters; pricing and profit calculators; VAT, GST and sales-tax calculators; and business calculators for break-even analysis, loans and late-payment interest.
The site exists because the money side of small business is underserved by free tools. The options are usually expensive software, ad-covered calculators with no explanation of their maths, or “free” generators that demand your email before handing over your own document. LancerBill is none of those things.
Who it’s for
- Freelancers and contractors setting rates, quoting work, invoicing clients and chasing late payments.
- Solopreneurs and small product businesses pricing products, checking margins and handling tax on sales.
- Tradespeople and service businesses quoting jobs, invoicing and documenting payments.
- Anyone who needs a quick, trustworthy answer to a money question without creating an account.
If you run a larger business with employees, payroll and multi-entity accounting, these tools are still useful for quick checks — but they are not a substitute for accounting software or professional advice.
How the tools work
Every tool on this site runs entirely in your visitor’s browser using JavaScript. When you type figures into a calculator or details into the invoice generator, the processing happens on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers, no account is created, and there is nothing to log into.
This architecture is a deliberate choice with one trade-off you should understand: because your data never leaves your device, we cannot sync it between your devices or recover it for you. Tools that keep a local history (client books, invoice numbering) store it in your browser’s local storage. Use the export feature for anything important.
The privacy-first approach
Most free online tools are funded by data: your inputs are processed server-side, logged, and sometimes monetised. We built LancerBill the other way — the tools are useful without us ever seeing your data, so we simply don’t collect it. There is no analytics tracking of what you type into tools, no advertising profile built from your usage, and no sale of data because there is no data to sell. No account needed — ever
You will never be asked to create an account, confirm an email address, or start a trial to use a LancerBill tool. If a tool ever asks you for personal information beyond what the calculation itself needs (and none of them do), something is wrong — contact us.
Accuracy and honesty
Every calculator page publishes its formulas, states its assumptions and works through a realistic example. Tax rates carry a “last reviewed” date, and we link to the official source (HMRC, IRS, ATO, IRAS, CRA and others) so you can verify figures before relying on them. Where a topic involves judgement — tax registration, late-payment enforcement, borrowing — the pages say so plainly and point you toward professional advice. What’s next
The launch set covers 17 tools across 5 categories. The roadmap includes deeper per-country tax coverage, per-trade invoice templates, and companion generators (late-invoice reminder emails, timesheet-to-invoice conversion). Suggestions are welcome via the contact page.
